Description:
An Early 19th Century Grand Tour Wax Coin Impression Of An Ancient Greek Drachm, c.400 B.C.
4.9cm wide overall.
Obverse: A grotestque style head of Medusa in classic attic style, with protruding tongue.
The wax Impression laid to resin within its original card slip, numbered in ink “344”.
Some minor wear to the card as expected with age, the wax and resin cracked with some small pieces missing. An attractive and very decorative piece. Medhurst original images shown below.
